Merit Scholarships
Oldenburg Academy offers the following Merit Scholarships to incoming freshmen. To be considered for these scholarships, students must take the Placement Test and fulfill the other Freshmen Scholarship Requirements.

Mother Theresa Hackelmeier Scholarship - First Place
A full one-year tuition scholarship is awarded to the student who earns
the highest score
on the Oldenburg Academy Placement Test. In event of a tie for highest
score, the scholarship will be divided equally between the students.
Academic Achievement Scholarship - Second Place
A one-year 50% tuition scholarship is awarded to the student who earns
the second highest score on the Oldenburg Academy Placement Test.
Academic Achievement Scholarship - Third Place
A one-year 25% tuition scholarship is awarded to the student who earns
the third highest score on the Oldenburg Academy Placement Test.
Academic Achievement Scholarship - Art
Criteria:
Recommendation from eighth grade art teacher
Sample of work (observation, landscape, still life, or portrait only)
Academic Achievement Scholarship - Music
Criteria:
Recommendation from music teacher or instructor
Submission of a Request for Audition form
The OA music department will contact each applicant to schedule an audition time
Academic Achievement Scholarship - English
Criteria:
Recommendation from eighth grade English teacher
A writing assignment graded by your English teacher which is either
hand-written or typed. If you do not have a graded sample of your
writing, you may submit a hand-written essay which is two pages or less
about an interesting event in your life.
Creative, appealing style, and strong mechanics.

Criteria:
Recommendation from math teacher
Sample of your best work (may include teacher comments)
Academic Achievement Scholarship - Science
Criteria:
Recommendation from science teacher
Sample of your best work (may include teacher comments)
