Oldenburg Academy completes stage rigging safety project
Oldenburg Academy of the Immaculate Conception is pleased to announce the completion of their stage rigging safety project. The upgrade was completed during Oldenburg Academy’s spring break, the week of March 22, 2010.
“The Oldenburg Academy auditorium and stage have a new lease on life! We’re looking forward to utilizing the upgraded facilities for our classes, practices and performances,” said Elizabeth Beiersdorfer, Music Faculty.
Oldenburg Academy received grant money from the Rising Sun Regional Foundation and the Sisters of St. Francis, Oldenburg to complete this project, which greatly increases the safety of the stage rigging in the school’s auditorium. This improves the educational environment for students who use the auditorium for choral and orchestra classes on a daily basis, as well as the safety of all those who visit the auditorium.
This 522 seat tiered theater and stage are used for a variety of academic programs and musical and theater productions involving Oldenburg Academy students, alumni, elementary school students, regional and professional arts organizations, and the community at large throughout the year. The quality of performances and the safety of performers will be enhanced by this stage rigging upgrade. The upgrade will likely increase the number of events that Oldenburg Academy and other organizations are able to offer to the community. Oldenburg Academy thanks the Rising Sun Regional Foundation and the Sisters of St. Francis, Oldenburg for their generous donations, which made this upgrade possible.
