Our Mission

Oldenburg Academy is a Catholic college preparatory high school focused on academic excellence, social responsibility, leadership development, and personal growth. We are committed to building a strong Christian foundation for young men and women who will excel in our ever-changing world.

Guiding Principles
    We do this by:

  • Incorporating the Franciscan values of prayer, gospel living, simplicity, and community outreach to support students' spiritual and intellectual needs and nurture their diverse set of God-given talents.
  • Providing a caring, well-qualified, and diverse faculty that incorporates continuously improving curriculums and methodologies.
  • Offering a wide range of extra-curricular activities that reinforce strong religious and academic programs.
  • Ensuring that a quality Catholic education is affordable while providing appropriate financial assistance.
  • Creating an environment where learning is a positive experience and respect for the individual and the Oldenburg Academy community is paramount.
  • Committing to long-term financial viability.
Vision Statement

Oldenburg Academy is the Catholic coeducational college preparatory high school in southeast Indiana with a history of quality Christian education founded on the Franciscan tradition of the Sisters of St. Francis, Oldenburg.

The administration, faculty and staff, in conjunction with parents, alumnae, community and the Board, will provide an environment where students will develop Christian values, academic excellence, social responsibility, personal growth and leadership.

The Academy provides the fundamentals and practical application of essential learning principles. The students' learning process encompasses opportunities for spiritual, academic, physical, psychological, social and emotional growth. This approach enables our students to use problem solving techniques and critical thinking necessary to seek information, develop solutions and make wise decisions.

Oldenburg Academy believes that focusing on the whole person better equips our students to meet the challenges of life, today and tomorrow.

Philosophy of Education

Oldenburg Academy of the Immaculate Conception Academy is keenly aware of its role in the education and formation of each student in the school. As a Catholic institution the Academy strives to instill in each student Christian attitudes and values and to provide a curriculum and activities that will educate the whole person-spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, socially, culturally, and physically-and prepare that student for a place in a complex and changing world. The Academy believes that in fulfilling this purpose it will best aid in the development of complete, well-adjusted Christian adults.
