OA Girls Win Division III Title


The Oldenburg Academy Lady Twisters claimed the top spot in the Division III race at the annual Rushville Cross Country Invitational. Oldenburg placed three runners in the top five places to help edge second placing Hagerstown. The Lady Twisters were led by individual champion Sarah Billingsley with a winning time of 19:29. Billingsley was followed by Meredith Maier in third place with a time of 20:50 and sister Rachel in fifth with a mark of 21:04.

As a team, the Lady Twisters finished with a score of 70 points, which was four better than Hagerstown and 10 ahead of Eastern Hancock. Their total time for the five runners was the best for the day among all divisions. The Oldenburg Academy boys team placed 17th in a field 18 teams.

Luke Wukusick was the top Twister with a 56th place finish and time of 20:21. Isaiah Frey (60th) was second for OA with a time of 20:24. Monroe Central won the Division III boys title.
