The Oldenburg Academy Athletic Hall of Fame was established to recognize outstanding contributions by student-athletes, coaches, administrators and other supporters of OA athletics.
The first class of inductees included the 47 individuals who were previously identified as recipients of the Ammann-Brinkmoeller Award and/or recognized upon graduation from the Academy from 1980-1997 as superior athletes. This reimagined athletic hall of fame presents an opportunity to honor these outstanding individuals and create a structure for new members to be added annually.
This Athletic Hall of Fame is named for Sr. Mary Ammann, OSF who was the first Athletic Director at the Academy and Mrs. Pat Brinkmoeller who was an early and highly successful coach and teacher. Together, these visionary women were responsible for bringing a competitive, IHSAA sanctioned athletic program to ICA/OA

2021 INDUCTEES
OASIS Founding Members
Kathy and the late Jim Wintz
Becky and Bart Bartling
Diane and Steve Gehring
Marcy and Tim Wurtz
In the mid to late 1990’s a group of friends came together with the idea of forming an organized group of parents for OA student athletes. The vision was to raise funds solely for the needs of the athletic program, and thus OASIS was born. In the past 20+ years, OASIS parent volunteers have worked numerous events from Cincinnati Reds games to Summer BBQs and much more! They also sold spiritwear, peelers, and held many other fundraising events. The annual Super Bowl Breakfast and Freudenfest booths are still going strong and significant fundraisers for OASIS. Through the years these funds have purchased various sporting equipment, our first school bus, and they are now helping to finance the new Hillenbrand Family FeldHaus.
This team has passed on their vision of love and dedication for Oldenburg Academy and has laid the groundwork for the success of OA’s athletic program. These founding members have taught many the meaning of hard-work and dedication. Without these members and their vision, the athletic program here at Oldenburg Academy wouldn’t be what it is today.
