Oldenburg Academy Principal Jill Hollins announced today that Lydia Ehrhard, a senior at Oldenburg Academy, has been named a Commended Student in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program. Lydia is being recognized for her outstanding academic performance and exceptional potential for continued success.
Lydia is the daughter of Joseph and Michelle Ehrhard of West Harrison, Indiana.
About 34,000 students throughout the nation are being recognized as Commended Students in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program. These students placed among the top 50,000 students who entered the 2027 competition by taking the 2025 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).
Although Commended Students will not continue in the 2027 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, this recognition reflects their strong academic promise and achievement.
“Those being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success,” commented a spokesperson for the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. “These students represent a valuable national resource; recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation.”
At Oldenburg Academy, Lydia’s recognition is a reflection of the dedication and hard work she has demonstrated throughout her high school career.
“We are incredibly proud of Lydia and this well-deserved recognition,” said Principal Jill Hollins. “Being named a Commended Student is a significant academic accomplishment, and it reflects not only Lydia’s ability, but also the commitment and hard work she has put into her education. She consistently challenges herself to do her best, and we are excited to celebrate this achievement with her. Lydia represents the academic excellence and spirit we value at Oldenburg Academy, and we look forward to seeing all that she will accomplish in the future.”
Oldenburg Academy congratulates Lydia on this outstanding achievement and is proud to recognize her as a member of the Class of 2027.
