Oldenburg Academy Celebrates the Class of 2026
Oldenburg Academy of the Immaculate Conception proudly announces the graduation of the Class of 2026—28 exceptional young men and women who exemplify the school’s Franciscan Catholic, college preparatory mission.
The Class of 2026 leaves Oldenburg Academy well-prepared for the next chapter of their lives. Collectively, they earned more than $3.2 million in scholarship offers and completed over 800 dual college credits—an impressive testament to the rigor of OA’s academic programs, the dedication of its faculty, and the perseverance of its students.
Academic achievement continues to be a hallmark of the OA experience. This year, of Oldenburg Academy’s 28 graduates, 3 were Lilly Endowment Scholarship Finalists. 82% of graduates earned the Indiana Academic Honors Diploma, and 54% completed the Indiana College Core—entering college with the equivalent of a full year of general education credits already earned.
A new academic recognition initiative, launched last year, honored students through Latin Honors distinctions. Three students earned Cum Laude (GPA 3.70–3.84), four earned Magna Cum Laude (GPA 3.85–4.0), and fifteen achieved Summa Cum Laude honors (GPA above 4.0). In addition, 12 student-athletes were named Academic All-State, demonstrating excellence both in the classroom and in competition.
“These numbers tell a story of academic strength, but also of heart and determination,” said Angie Parmer, Principal of Oldenburg Academy. “It’s clear that both our students and their families have made education a priority. They put in the time, the work, and the effort it takes to succeed. Our students are leaving with a strong sense of purpose. They are college-ready, ready to serve their communities, live their values, and make a lasting impact. I couldn’t be more proud of who they are and am very excited for what they will become.”
This year’s Valedictorian is Ashley Hunter. daughter of Jeff Hunter and Lisa Mattuci of Batesville. Ashley plans to attend the University of Cincinnati in the fall and study Journalism. Eleanor Eaglin and Lillian Vanderpohl are the Salutatorians of the Class of 2026. Eleanor is the daughter of Michael and Nicole Eaglin, of Aurora. Lillian is the daughter of Irvin and Shawna Vanderpohl of Greensburg. In the fall, Eleanor will attend Indiana University to study Biology and Lillian will attend Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and study Biochemistry.
True to the Franciscan tradition, the Class of 2026 also modeled servant leadership in meaningful ways. Twenty-one seniors completed over 100 hours of community service, and one student surpassed 500 hours—a remarkable act of generosity and commitment. These service hours may not appear on a transcript, but they speak volumes about the character and compassion at the heart of the OA experience.
“The Class of 2026 has been an exceptional group of students whose academic achievements, leadership, service, and commitment to our Franciscan values have enriched our school community,” said Annette Hunger, President of Oldenburg Academy. “Throughout their time at OA, they have challenged themselves, supported one another, and grown into young adults prepared to make a positive difference in the world. As they join an alumni tradition that spans nearly 175 years, we are confident they will continue to lead lives of faith, purpose, compassion, and service.”
